New leadership role, new opportunity
Te Tari Taiwhenua/Internal Affairs serves and connects people, communities and government to build a safe, prosperous and respected nation. We deliver value to New Zealanders in many ways – leading digital government, keeping Kiwis safe from harm, supporting strong and resilient communities, strengthening civic participation and governance, and fostering our cultural identity. In other words, we are all about helping to make New Zealand better for New Zealanders.
Digital Public Service Branch
Our public service is being called upon to deliver a unified, seamless and effective digital experience so that New Zealanders have the best possible experience of government. We are seeking experienced, strategic leaders to work with vision and influence to help enable and drive a strong, successful and connected digital public sector.
A digital public service
This work is critical to creating the platform for government to respond to people’s expectations for faster, more agile, accessible and integrated digital services.
The branch achieves this by working across the public service to connect, influence and support the system to transform and better respond to the ever-changing digital landscape. It also supports the Government Chief Digital Officer (GCDO), whose work supports a modern adaptive public service to have the skills, technology and data to operate at pace and to meet changing needs.
This branch has recently redefined its purpose and reorganised to better meet the needs of a digital public service. These roles are the result of this redesign.
Manager Agency Partnerships
The Manager Agency Partnerships focuses on providing consulting services to agencies to enhance capability across the sector and accelerate the delivery of the Strategy for a Digital Public Service. The Agency Partnerships & Capability team is made up of small semi-autonomous teams of specialist consultants providing targeted guidance, advice and practical support to agencies. Specialist areas include assurance, privacy, investment, architecture and digital service design and integrated digital services.
The Manager Agency Partnerships is part of the Agency Partnerships and Capability business group leadership team, which is one of four new groups established within the branch.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- proven experience leading a consulting service or in a service delivery management role
- experience managing complex and diverse client/stakeholder relationships and expectations
- strong planning and organisational skills to effectively resource a dynamic work programme, and understand connections across the Branch and wider system
- a strategic thinker able to translate strategy into operational delivery and identify opportunities, issues and their implications in a complex environment
- proven leadership skills, including demonstrated ability to engage and motivate staff to adopt and practice new ways of working
